ABOUT ME

Susan Marlon Wedding Officiant

Congratulations on your upcoming ceremony. My name is Susan Marlan and I am a legally ordained Interfaith Officiant, registered in 1989 by the City of New York to officiate ceremonies throughout the United States and anywhere in the world it is legally permitted to do so. I have been officiating interfaith, intercultural, traditional same-faith, same-sex, interdenominational, interracial and civil ceremonies for over 22 years.

The finest compliments I receive are referrals from my couples, their families and friends. I am always thrilled to be invited back into a family. (Within one family, I officiated ceremonies for three sisters, then their cousins, then returned within a few years to perform their baby blessing ceremonies, anniversaries, etc.).

Susan Marlan qualified to perform all type of ceremonies

"I absolutely love what I do and I know that love shines through in the ceremonies I perform."

Couples referred to me are in the hands of a poised, experienced professional who truly cares about their happiness and satisfaction. With fresh insight, imagination and competence we will create the ceremony that is unique only to you.

"Each ceremony is written from the heart, delivered with eloquence and sincerity"

I officiate and co-officiate Wedding and Commitment Ceremonies, Anniversaries, Second and Third Marriages, Renewal of Vows and Baby Naming/Blessing Ceremonies.

Your ceremony may be civil with no mention of God. It may be for two people of the same religion, or it may be non-religion specific - yet spiritual, contain and blend two different traditions or religions, or be constructed about a common belief. All will have deep elements of love and romance, filled with personal touches that relate to your lives as a couple.

If you choose to celebrate your familial backgrounds by incorporating rituals, blessings, prayers and readings that are reflective of your heritage, these can be adapted in a universal context for interfaith, intercultural and interracial marriages. I have extensive experience working with cultures from all around the world and will guide you through this process. These traditions may be celebrated with or without religious context.

MY BELIEFS

I believe that it is absolutely wonderful - so very exciting and great cause for celebration - that you have found each other and I am honored and privileged to share this magical time in your lives.

I believe that the most memorable ceremonies speak of a couple's personal beliefs, traditions, hopes and dreams. Every word you choose will proclaim and celebrate your emotional and spiritual bond, as well as your legal commitment to each other.

I believe that every couple deserves a marriage ceremony as unique as they are. If your religious, spiritual or cultural backgrounds differ, if they are the same, or if you choose to celebrate with a non-denominational or civil ceremony, you can have the ceremony that will express your vision of this special day.

"A true Loving marriage celebrates the differences that brought you together and endear you to each other. Your differences will bring balance and add color to your marriage."

I believe that every aspect of your ceremony is important. My attention to detail will help to keep you focused, stress-free and in the moment. I coordinate the many details often expected of a wedding planner, working very easily with family members, musicians, banquet managers and photographers.

I believe I have created a space where everyone is welcome to honor their love, their relationship, their beliefs and traditions.
